General Journal Entries don't post to General Ledger in versions 2025.0, 2024.2, 2023.5

Description

The first entry in General Journal Entry is not being updated properly to the General Ledger History file.  GL_DetailPosting.m4t table.  Batches have the same issue.  The first entry of the first batch updated, even if multiple batches or multiple journal #s and in a batch.  This happens on Journal Reversals which are populated into the General Journal Entry and updated from the General Journal Entry.  

Resolution

The following program fixes resolve the issue in the versions Sage 2025.0, 2024.2, and 2023.5 where General Journal enteries are not updateing to General Ledger. The Sage 2025.0 program fix includes an additional fix that also resolves the issue where UPC/EAN Alias Item is deleted when a change is made in Item Maintenace.

Reconciling:

After updating Journal Entries in General Journal Entry, confirm entries posted to the General Ledger.

Use the Journal printed prior to update or the Reprint Journals from the General Ledger Reports menu.   

Compare those with the Account Maintenance in GL Main or GL Reports, General Ledger Detail to find entries not updated.

Suggest using greater than posting dates to minimize the transactions to review.

You will need to enter any missing transaction.
