Performing a test upgrade allows you to resolve issues that may occur during the LIVE upgrade, reducing downtime and allows you to get a rough estimate of how long the upgrade process will take.

NOTE: If upgrading from Sage 100 2017 or older review KB article DocLink: Error: "Unable to cast COM object of type" when printing in Sage 100 2017 and earlier versions after installing Sage 100 2018 or later versions, regarding Printing issue when Sage 100 2018 or 2019 are installed on the same system as version 2017 or older. We recommend using a separate machine for testing.

  1. Get everyone out of the Source (LIVE) installation
  2. Copy the ‘MAS90’ folder to a different location to be used for the Test Migration

NOTE: Review Update Checklist at the end of the Installation for Pre and Post (Conversion) Migration instructions

  14. Enter Source Installation Administrator Password. Click Next
Note: If you don’t know the Source Installation Administrator account password, review Knowledgebase Article ‘How to request Administrator user password reset assistance for Sage 100’ (See Related Resource below)
