Moving Sage 100 versions 2013 or higher

 NOTE:

  • Ensure all data entries are updated, and users are signed off from the Sage 100 program
  • Back up your data — See How to backup and restore data, program and system files for Sage 100
  • Microsoft Installer prevents multiple installations of the same version on the same server
  • If you're moving the installation to a new location on the same server, you must uninstall Sage 100 after backing up the data
  • Ensure all third-party add-ins, programs, or enhancements are available from the appropriate vendor

Step 1: Download the installation files

  1. Download the Sage 100 Full Product.
  2. Download the applicable product updates and hotfixes.

          See Sage 100: Download Portal

Step 2: Determine installation locations

  1. Note down the location of "..\MAS90" directory on your current Sage 100 server.
  2. Determine the new installation location.
  3. If the new location is on a different server or location from where you cannot access the current location, copy the current "MAS90" directory, including all its content, to the new server in a directory other than the new installation directory.

Step 3: Install Sage 100 at the new location

  1. Install the current version of Sage 100 or higher at the new location.
  2. Apply all product updates and hotfixes. See How to install Sage 100 and locate installation and upgrade information.
  3. Install any third-party add-ins, programs or enhancements as the third-party vendor instructs.
  4. If any company data and Paperless Office documents are stored in different locations, transfer them to the new location. See How to move PDF documents for Paperless Office.

Step 4: Migrate system info and company data

NOTE: You must run Parallel Migration Wizard from the new location, NOT from the previous installation and do not migrate from an installation to itself.

  1. At the new location, go to "..\MAS90\Migration" subdirectory.
  2. Ensure all users are logged out if migrating from the previous instance, not the copy.
  3. For Sage 100 Advanced or Premium editions, stop the Sage 100 services (Start, Run, compmgmt.msc, services).
  4. Right-click Migrate.exe and select Run as administrator to launch the Parallel Migration Wizard.
  5. Follow the prompts to migrate System Information and company data from the previous installation location or from the copy.

Step 5: Workstations setup

NOTE: As of Sage 100 version 2018 and higher and Payroll 2.x and higher, the company code folder (MAS_XXX where XXX = company code) cannot be copied into another installation without the MAS_SYSTEM folder as in prior versions. If possible, it is best to migrate data to the new installation. See How to copy data from Sage 100 2018 and higher to a different installation for review by a trusted third-party

Moving Sage 100 retired versions
NOTE: Downloads are no longer available for retired versions. The procedure below facilitates moving an installation to upgrade it to the latest.
