Favorites disappear after reinstalling Workstation Setup in Sage 100

Cause
The workstation reinstall replaces the file that stores Favorites.
The server stores Favorites in this folder:
  • \MAS90\Favorites\<Windows user>\Favorites.JSON
The server also stores Public Favorites in this file:
  • \MAS90\Favorites\public.favorites.json
After the reinstall, the local Favorites.json file in the Sage 100 folder no longer contains the previous Favorites.
Resolution

NOTE:

This workaround only helps if you have a backup of the original Favorites.json file from before the reinstall.

Back up Favorites before reinstalling

  1. Open C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Sage 100
  2. If you use Windows 7, open My Documents\Sage 100
  3. Back up the entire Sage 100 folder to another location before you uninstall Workstation Setup.

Restore Favorites after reinstalling

  1. Reinstall the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100
  2. Open C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Sage 100
  3. If you use Windows 7, open My Documents\Sage 100
  4. Find the local Favorites.json file.
  5. Rename that file.
  6. Copy the backed-up Favorites.json file into the folder.

If no backup exists

Set up Favorites again manually.
