| Cause | - Bad installation of the Sage 50 E-mail Writer
- Printer driver conflict
- Print Spooler is damaged
- Damaged form (.frm) file being used when e-mailing

| Resolution | NOTE: If you are on Windows 11 using Microsoft Outlook, this is suspected to be caused by cumulative Windows updates for .NET Framework released on or after July 9, 2024. We recommend installing the August 13, 2024-KB5042099 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework. If the problem still occurs, consult your local IT group or computer technician to remove updates KB5039895 and KB5041169. Outlook may be damaged in some cases, so if the problem still occurs, reinstall Outlook. A permanent solution is being investigated. Option 1: Reinstall Sage 50 E-mail Writer - Delete the E-Mail Writer and repair Sage 50—U.S. Edition
- Close Sage on the computer.
- Select Start, and then select Devices and Printers.
- Double-click Sage 50 E-mail Writer, if there are any documents pending, click Printer and Cancel all documents.
- Right-click Sage 50 E-mail Writer, and then click Remove device.
- Repair the Sage 50 installation, referring to How to repair the Sage 50 installation.
- Delete the E-Mail Writer and reinstall manually
- Select Start, and then select Devices and Printers.
- Double-click Sage 50 E-mail Writer, if there are any documents pending, click Printer and Cancel all documents.
- Right-click Sage 50 E-mail Writer, and then click Remove device.
- Select a printer, and then click Print Server Properties.
- Click Drivers tab.
- Remove Amyuni Document Converter, and then select Remove Driver and Driver Package.
- Browse to your program path, referring to How to find data path and program path.
- Double-click InstallAmyuni.exe.
- Click OK.
- Select Devices and Printers.
- Right-click Amyuni Document Converter, and then click Printer properties.
- Rename the driver to Sage 50 E-mail Writer being sure the capitalization and spacing are correct.
- Click Ports tab, and then click Add Port.
- Click Local Port, and then click New Port.
- Type PDF1, and then click OK.
- Click Close and then click Advanced tab.
- Select Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster.
- Select Enable advanced printing features is marked.
- Select Print directly to the printer.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Verify that you’re able to e-mail forms. If you’re still not able to e-mail forms, proceed to Section 2.
Option 2: Reassign Printer Port - Select Start, and then select Devices and Printers.
- Right-click Sage 50 E-mail Writer, and then select Printer properties.
- Click Ports tab, and select box next to COM1: Serial Port.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Verify that you’re able to e-mail forms.
Option 3: Print Spooler is damaged - Open the Services screen, press the Windows+R keys, type Services.msc, and then click OK.
- Select Print Spooler, and then click Stop.
- Select Start to start the service.
- Verify that you’re able to e-mail forms.
Note: If you receive an Error 1053 or a Spooler SubSystem App, contact your IT Professional to correct any Windows issues. Option 4: Damaged form (.frm) file - Try e-mailing out of Sage using a standard form.
- If the e-mailing function works, this would indicate a corrupted .frm file.
- Delete the custom form and recreate it or restore custom forms from a back up. Follow How to restore custom forms.
