| Resolution | Workaround: Maximize the entry screen window - Click the Maximize (square) button on the upper right of the entry screen window to enlarge the window to fit the entire screen.
- Alternately, press Alt + Spacebar with the window open and select Maximize
- Enter your transaction and verify that the error no longer occurs.
Disable Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service - Test the same task in a sample company.
- If no issues occur in the sample company, skip to the next section on damaged DDF files
- If you still get the same result, close Sage 50 and continue with the steps below
- On the keyboard, press the WINDOWS+R keys.
- Type services.msc, and then click OK.
- Right-click Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service, and then select Stop.
- Double-click Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service.
- Change General tab, Startup type to Disabled.
- Change the Recovery tab settings.
- First failure… Take No Action
- Second failure … Take No Action
- Subsequent failures … Take No Action
- Reset fail count after … 0 days
- Click OK, and then close Services.
- Restart the computer.
- Verify you can perform the task without errors. If the error still occurs, go to the next section on damaged DDF files.
If using Windows 11, stop the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service: - Open the Device Manager.
- Tap the arrow next to the Human Interface Devices list to expand it.
- Select the first HID-compliant touch screen item.
- Select Action and then Disable device from the menu at the top of Device Manager.
- Select Yes.
- Close the Device Manager.
Damaged DDF files - With the company open, click Maintain > Company Information.
- Note the company's Directory.
- Close Sage 50.
- Open Computer.
- Browse to the directory from Step 2.
- Delete all DDF files.
- Reopen Sage 50 and the company.
- Verify that you can save or modify transactions. If the error still occurs, proceed to the next section.
