| How do I move my company data folder? |
Resolution | Note: This article assumes that you have located your company's data folder as well as your data path. If you have not, refer to How to find data path and program path.
- Open Windows Explorer and browse to the location where your company's data folder is stored.
- Right-click the folder that contains your company data and then select Copy.
- Browse to the location where you wish to place your data.
Note: To be sure that you are in the correct data location, look for a file named Verinfo and open it. Read the Ver= line and make sure that it agrees with your latest version (30 for 2023, 29 for 2022, 28 for 2021, and so forth).
- Right-click a blank area of this screen, and then select Paste (or click File and then select Paste).
- The company should now copy to the new location, if you get warnings about files being in use or locked, try rebooting the computer that you are copying from, and then repeat steps 1-4.
- Verify your company will open from the new location.
- If you have custom forms, you will need to restore them. Refer to Custom forms are missing.
