How to Deactivate the services on a MyAssistant server.

When migrating servers, you must disable all the following services on the old server:

  • ISDAdminSenderService (used to run tasks)
  • ISDAdminTaskService (used to email task notifications)
  • SQL Server (ISD)
    • Note: The SQL Service (ISD) service is the default Microsoft SQL instance name that MyAssistant creates. If the SQL instance name was manually created, it may be named differently. Consultant with your IT professional if you are unsure.

To disable these services on the server, perform these steps:

  1. Log on the old server as an administrator.
  2. Click Start, Run (or Start, Search Programs or files for newer operating systems).
  3. Type: services.msc
  4. Press the Enter key.
  5. Locate each service noted above and double-click each one to open up the properties window.
  6. Change the Startup type to Disabled.
  7. Click the Stop button.
  8. Click OK

If you plan to move the MyAssistant Server you may to deactivate the MyAssistant Server License see I upgraded the MyAssistant server, or I need to move MyAssistant license from one workstation, server or user to another.".

Uninstall MyAssistant Server:
If MyAssistant should no longer run on the this server follow these steps to remove the program.

  1. Go to Programs and Features or Apps and Features
  2. Scroll down until you see MyAssistant, then click Uninstall and complete the wizard
  3. Repeat for all MyAssistant programs on the server.
