| | Rebuild company data files |
 | Description | Examples of items that require a rebuild: - Transactions are missing
  - Unable to select orders for invoicing
  - Duplicate checks print
  - Options freeze when accessing certain records
    |
 | Resolution | Before you begin - Back up the company data
  - Don’t overwrite any existing backups
  - If using Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control, and Order Entry, always rebuild AR, IC and then OE.  Rebuild in alphabetical order or left-to-right across the toolbar
  - For best performance, rebuild directly at the server
  - If the rebuild stops, restore a backup before starting another rebuild
How to rebuild a module - Log out all users from the program. To verify access select File, Network Status. You’ll only see yourself logged into the Network Status Report.
  - In the module you want to rebuild, go to Utilities, then choose Rebuild [Module] Data Files.
  - A message displays that this is an exclusive option. Select OK.  If you get an error about a user in the program, disconnect users or tasks.
  - Create your backup, then click OK to continue.
  -  When the rebuild has completed successfully, the message “REBUILD COMPLETE. # ERRORS FOUND” displays. If the rebuild found errors, click YES to display the rebuild log. It’s also a good idea to print the error log if an error displays. To print the log, select the File, Print.
When to rebuild a module - Error message states that a rebuild is required
  - A Customer Support analyst recommends a rebuild to resolve an issue
  - Data is missing when performing a lookup
Rebuilding data files can fix problems by reindexing and checking the data. Some businesses do this regularly for data maintenance. You don’t need to perform it more than once a month. Notes - If the "REBUILD COMPLETE" message doesn’t display, the rebuild failed
  - Restore a backup. Don’t use partially rebuilt data
  - If the rebuild found errors, review the error log carefully. For further information on repair logs, see Rebuild Log ERRORS.pdf
