| How do I create a new full account in General Ledger? |
Resolution | Your account structure does not use prefixes: - From the Setup menu, select Accounts.
- Enter the new Account number and Title, then press the ENTER key.
- Select the appropriate Account Type and other settings to be used.
- Click Save.
- Click Close to exit.
Your account structure uses prefixes: - If this is a new prefix, see: How do I set up an account prefix in General Ledger?
- Verify if the base account to be used already exists in Setup, Prefix/Base, Base Accounts. If the base account does not exist, see: How do I create a new base account in General Ledger? to create the account.
- Once the prefix and base account are set up, from the Setup menu, select Generate Accounts.
- Select the base account, then click OK.
- Select the prefixes to be combined with the base account, then click OK.
- Click Start.
- Note: The process is quick and there is no journal that prints. You can confirm the account is created in Setup, Accounts or Reports, Lists, Chart of Accounts.
