Your account structure does not use prefixes:

  1. From the Setup menu, select Accounts.
  2. Enter the new Account number and Title, then press the ENTER key.
  3. Select the appropriate Account Type and other settings to be used.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Close to exit.

Your account structure uses prefixes:

  1. If this is a new prefix, see: How do I set up an account prefix in General Ledger?
  2. Verify if the base account to be used already exists in Setup, Prefix/Base, Base Accounts. If the base account does not exist, see: How do I create a new base account in General Ledger? to create the account.
  3. Once the prefix and base account are set up, from the Setup menu, select Generate Accounts.
  4. Select the base account, then click OK.
  5. Select the prefixes to be combined with the base account, then click OK.
  6. Click Start.
    • Note: The process is quick and there is no journal that prints. You can confirm the account is created in Setup, Accounts or Reports, Lists, Chart of Accounts.
