• Actian was uninstalled
• Actian is damaged
• Sage 50—U.S. Edition isn't installed on the server
• Avast Cleanup has Actian in "sleeping" mode, which effectively disables it

Verify Sage 50 installation at the server

1. Select WINDOWS + R.
2. Type Appwiz.cpl then click OK.
3. Look for Sage 50 Accounting [version].
   • If the program shows as not installed, see Installation Instructions-Sage 50—U.S. Edition
   • If the program shows as installed, continue with the next section

Manually reinstall Actian

1. Uninstall and reinstall the Actian database engine. See How to completely remove and reinstall Actian (formerly Pervasive).
2. Open the program and verify that the issue no longer occurs.

Damaged operating system component

1. See Error: "There was a problem activating..." when the Operating System is damaged.
2. Contact your local I.T. to repair the operating system if there are errors.

Avast Cleanup is installed

Consult the program documentation or contact Avast support to "Ignore" both Sage 50 Accounting and Actian PSQL Workgroup Engine in the list of "sleeping" programs.
