For detailed steps on how to locate the out of balance batches, refer to DocLink: How do I find the batches causing a General Ledger period to be out of balance in total debits and credits?

  1. Determine if there is a portion of the posted batch in the new.glt that need to be posted. Post if necessary.
Refer to DocLink: How do I record or post a one-sided or out of balance entry in General Ledger? below for how to post an out of balance batch in General Ledger.
  2. Review the posting journal from the operation that created the batch to determine if one side of the batch rejected and resolve the reason for the rejection.
  3. Review the entries in the batch in the current.glt.
    1. In General Ledger, from the Reports menu, select Entries, Entries By Batch.
    2. Select the GL Transaction (Current) file, then click OK.
    3. Click Ranges, select the appropriate application of origin for the batch, then click Batches and select the batch number.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Print or preview the report as desired.
  4. Determine if there is a missing entry, if there are duplicate entries or if the batch contains dates in different months.
Note: You may need to review the original batch in the application of origin. Review that application's reconciliation process for batch by batch reconciliation for details.
  5. Determine the correction necessary.
