Sage Paperless Construction: Firewall Exceptions
Description

Configuring exceptions and exclusions requires TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol) port information.

 CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of Windows security and network settings. Sage isn't responsible for any issues arising from changes to these settings. Back up all system and application databases needed for a complete restoration. Contact a certified consultant or your system administrator for assistance. 

Add the following rules for the client workstations and the SQL server, application server, and terminal servers.

For Sage Paperless Construction Application Service

  • Inbound Rules: TCP 9990, UDP 9990
  • Outbound Rules: TCP 9990, UDP 9990

For Microsoft SQL Server

  • Inbound Rules: TCP 1433, UDP 1433, TCP 1434, UDP 1434, TCP (instance dynamic), UDP (instance dynamic)
  • Outbound Rules: TCP 1433, UDP 1433, TCP 1434, UDP 1434, TCP (instance dynamic), UDP (instance dynamic)

Find the Paperless dynamic port

  1. On the server, open the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
  2. In the left pane, click SQL Server Network Configuration.
  3. In the right pane, double-click Protocols for SAGEPAPERLESS (or whatever name you’ve assigned your instance).
  4. Double-click TCP/IP (or right-click and select Properties).
  5. Select the IP Addresses tab.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the list.
  7. Under IPALL, you’ll see the TCP Dynamic Port, which is dynamic. To make it static, consult your SQL admin.
  8. Confirm that the SQL Server Browser service is running on the SQL server.

For Sage Paperless Construction Web Service and Deployment

  1. Your application server must have ports 80 and 443 (https) enabled to connect to the web.
  2. White-list http://pecloud01.cloudapp.net/PELiveUpdateWCF/PELiveUpdateService.svc.
  3. Review your email spam settings to enable messages from [email protected], since the invites come from this address.
