Sage Paperless Construction: Windows permissions required for program folders, files, and services

CAUTION:

The procedure below requires knowledge of Windows security and can vary depending on the Windows version. We recommend working with your IT team to configure the security settings.

Files and folder locations

  1. Open the SPC Dashboard.
  2. Select the Deployment tab. Note the paths for Client Deployment, Job Poll Deployment, Reports Deployment, and Cloud Deployment.
  3. Open SPC and go to Administration Vaults.
  4. Select the General tab. Note the Production folder path.

Folder and file permissions for users and services

Installation and service accounts

  • Use a local or domain administrator account to install SPC
  • All program services use the installation account as the service account by default
  • The password for the accounts running the program services must not expire
  • Requires the Windows Temp folder located on the C:\ drive for program installation and updates

Standard users

Standard users require full control share permissions and security permissions to the following SPC folders:

  • winclient folder: \\%servername%\Sage Paperless Construction\deployment\winclient\
  • client setup folder: \\%servername%\Sage Paperless Construction\deployment\client setup\
  • Server Files folder: \\%servername%\Sage Paperless Construction\deployment\Server Files\
  • peserverconfig file: \\%servername%\Sage Paperless Construction\deployment\server files\config\peserverconfig.xml
  • reports folder: \\%servername%\Sage Paperless Construction\deployment\reports\
  • Attachment Sync: If you're using Attachment Sync, standard users need read permissions for the base path and its subdirectories

Program services

The following services must use an admin account with full control permissions to the program shares and files.

  • Application Service
  • Job Poll Service
  • Web Service
  • MSSQL$SAGEPAPERLESS (SQL services for SPC)

 

NOTE:

Check the permissions for Sage 300 CRE and Sage 100 Contractor to ensure the program works.
