Missing uses / licenses / modules 17.1.5 (and later)
Description
Cause

300 CRE enforces use counts based on Sage's record of your customers. Use counts are managed automatically. Several scenarios can cause missing licenses, uses, or modules.

  • You have purchased additional seats but not yet updated License Administration.
  • You installed Sage 300 CRE on multiple servers to accommodate regional offices or for testing or other purposes. License Administration enforces use counts for multi-server licensing, so that you can divide licenses between machines but the total number must equal the licenses on your account.
  • You may have relinquished licenses to reduce cost or because fewer employees are using the software.
Resolution

Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate uses the License Administration tool to track and assign software licenses. Entering your Sage Client ID and Registration Name in the License Administration tool will retrieve the number of purchased licenses available.

Verify the number of licenses / uses in the Customer Portal

  1. Log into the Sage Customer Portal.
  2. Select Profile, profile details.
  3. Note the Company ID and Company Name.
  4. Select Activation codes, details.
  5. Locate the User count associated with the product or modules you use.

Confirm registration information is correct in the License Administration tool

  1. Go to Start, Sage Administration, License Administration.
  2. Verify the License Administration tool has your correct Sage Client ID and Registration Name.
    • The Company ID from the Sage Customer Portal should be your Sage Client ID.
    • The Company Name from the Sage Customer Portal should be your Registration Name.
  3. Change the Sage Client ID and Registration Name. Press Save and Update.

Compare Total Uses in License Administration tool with the User count from the Customer Portal
You can view the status of your licenses by going to Start, Sage Administration, License Administration. If security is enabled for your installation, you must be a Security and Application Administrator for Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate to access this module.

  1. Select the Licenses tab to view uses for accounting modules or Mobile Licenses to view uses for mobile products.
  2. Verify the Total Uses Purchased and how you have allocated them by application.
  3. Compare Total Uses in License Administration with the User counts you noted when you checked the Sage Customer Portal.

Resolve discrepancies in Use Counts

  1. If the License Administration tool doesn’t show the correct number of uses for a module, click the Update button to force an update. This causes the License Administration tool to retrieve use counts from the Sage customer database.
  2. If needed, change the number of allocated users. Click the Update button.
  3. If the number of uses that displays in the Sage Customer Portal and License Administration is the same but differs from your expected number of uses, contact the Sage Sales team to identify the cause of the discrepancy.
