Summary

You can change the first section of the formatted IDs listed below in Sage 300 CRE. Any other change to formatted IDs requires a Key Change.

Description

Important: If you're using any third-party applications that interface with Sage 300 CRE, check with the program vendor before changing formats in your data.

Below is a list of some of the possible applications:

  • Timberscan
  • Builder MT
  • Sage Paperless
  • ProCore
  • HH2

Cause

Resolution

You can increase the length of only the first section of the following formatted IDs:

  • AR Contact
  • AR Customer
  • CN Contract
  • CN item
  • EQ Cost Code
  • EQ Equipment
  • EQ Revenue Code
  • JC Cost Code
  • JC Job
  • RT Cost Code
  • RT Job

    Notes:

    • Any ID added with the new format in the data folder prints at the end of your reports
    • Most Sage 300 CRE reports sort from shortest to longest if you have varying lengths of IDs
    • To modify this sort order, you can customize your reports to sort numerically instead of by length

Other changes to formatted IDs are performed by Sage Expert Services (SES).
