How to print and eFile1099 and 1096 forms and add "Official Copy" to federal forms in Sage 100.
Before you begin
To process 1099s
- Open Accounts Payable, Reports, Form 1099 Tax Reporting.
- In the Form 1099 Tax Reporting window, choose the Form to Use:
- New for current year
- History for prior years
- Select one Form Type:
- Dividend
- Interest
- Miscellaneous
- Non-Employee Compensation
- Choose the Vendor Type.
- Select the 1099 Calendar Year (defaults from Accounts Payable Options).
- Enter Minimum YTD Payment.
- Confirm company info in:
- Company Name, Address, City, State, ZIP Code, Federal ID No., Telephone, Fax
- This info comes from Library Master, Main, Company Maintenance
- Click Accept.
Next steps
- The 1099 Wizard opens.
- Click Next through each screen.
- In the W2/1099 Preparer window, click the green arrow to complete the form.
- Review the 1099 recipient grid.
- Fix any errors.
Choose how to process 1099s
- Complete 1099 eFiling Service.
- Print and Mail Recipient Copies.
- File Federal 1099s and 1096.
- File State 1099s and Reconciliation Forms.
- Online 1099s Available for all Recipients.

- FormsViewer shows forms based on your selections.
- First: Federal 1099 forms.
- Click Next Step.
- Then: Federal Form 1096.

- If selecting to truncate the Recipient TIN, this will only happen on the printed copy
