Error: "Failure of DFRead function. Record not found"

Summary

The message appears when a pointer in the table is pointing to a record that doesn't exist in Sage BusinessWorks.

Resolution

Rebuild the Accounts Payable (AP) data files to reindex the records.

  1. Have all users exit the program.
  2. Perform a backup of the company by selecting File, Backup.
  3. Select AP, Utilities, Rebuild AP Data Files.
  4. If the error continues after rebuilding data files, contact Sage Customer Support. They’ll escalate for data analysis to review the data.
