Resolution

CAUTION: Sage support can't assist with third-party products, hardware, report customizations, or state and federal tax questions. Refer to our Scope of Support for more info. Contact your Sage business partner, network administrator, or accountant for assistance.

Use Webmail

NOTE: Webmail isn’t as reliable as an installed email application, due to the Microsoft authentication process.

  1. Go to Maintain, Email Setup, or click Edit Email Setup from the System
    navigation window.
  2. Click Use a webmail account and then click the link to Add account information.
  3. Select the type of Webmail service and enter the email address.
    • Outlook.com, Gmail, and Yahoo have predefined settings
    • If you select Other, provide the name of the SMTP server and the SMTP port
  4. If you’re using Gmail or Yahoo, configure your webmail account to ‘allow less secure applications’.
    • This will prevent your webmail from trying to block emails sent from Sage 50
  5. Finally, use the Edit or Remove hyperlinks to change the Email Setup window.

Use the default email application

NOTE: Sage 50 and the email program need to be on the same computer.  Email setup won't work over a remote connection, otherwise.

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Check to make sure you're using a compatible version of Outlook.
  2. Go to the top to Maintain and then down to Email Setup.
  3. Select to Use Default Email Application.
  4. You can now email from reports/transactions through your MAPI-compliant email application.
