How to update to Sage 50 Fixed Assets 2027.0

Summary

Update Sage 50 Fixed Assets to version 2027.0 to access new features and defect fixes. The update requires database conversion for versions 2026.1 and earlier.

Cause

The Sage Fixed Assets version 2027.0 is a mid-year release for more features and defect fixes. See the Sage Fixed Asset Release Notes for new features included in this release.

For detailed installation instructions, See the Sage 50 Fixed Assets Quick Start Guide.

Note: Starting with Sage Fixed Assets 2026.0, Sage Fixed Assets installs SAP Crystal Reports runtime SP34. This can cause an issue with Crystal Reports runtime versions used for other products. See Crystal Runtime Version Conflict for more information.

▼Sage Fixed Assets - Database Conversion

Sage Fixed Assets - Database Conversion

Note: When you open Sage 50 Fixed Assets 2027.0 for the first time, In-place Conversion converts the last database used. If only one database exists, you don't need to do anything else.

  • If you have multiple databases to convert, use the Conversion Utility for Single User and Lite Editions. See How do I convert data? for details.

Important Notes:

  • You can find all Product downloads for the supported versions of Sage Fixed Assets on the Download portal. See Sage Fixed Assets: Download Portal.
  • If you install 2027.0 without following the required update path, you can’t convert databases directly to 2027.0. They’ll appear with a Conversion Status of Incompatible Version. They'll require a Sage Expert Services engagement to update. See Sage Expert Services (SES) for details.
  • For in-place updates, you must do a Database Conversion for all versions of the program 2026.1 and prior. When updating from versions 2026.0 and earlier, the update paths are:

If updating from 2025.1 or 2026.0, you can either:

  • Uninstall the existing version, install 2027.0 and convert the databases.

If updating from 2024.0 or 2024.1, you can either:

  • Uninstall the existing version, install 2026.1 and convert the databases, then update to 2027.0 and convert the databases

If updating from 2023.0 or 2023.1, you can either:

  • Uninstall the existing version, install 2024.1 and convert the databases. Uninstall 2024.1, then install 2026.1 and convert the databases, then update to 2027.0 and convert the databases

If updating from 2012.0 – 2024.1:

  • You can't convert the existing databases directly to 2027.0. You'll need to migrate to a new environment using backup files. See How to migrate Sage Fixed Assets Single User products for more information.
  • Company Backups (.BBK) files created in prior versions back to 2012.0 will restore directly into the 2027.0 product. You'll need to do the restore on a new system.
