Note: This error is ALWAYS network or hardware related: - Check Application Log in Windows Event Viewer on the workstation for Event ID: 1000 and 1005. If Event 1005 exist, the issue is caused by the environment (i.e. network or disk related)
- Examine firewall settings (blocked ports, interdicted activity), anti-virus settings (such as exclusions for programs, directories, and file extensions), Windows security/permissions, etc.
- Examine hard drives, cabling, network interface cards (NICs), routers, switches, etc.
- Note: WiFi (wireless) connections are not supported. For more information, see the DocLinks below.
- Consult with a qualified Network Administrator to run diagnostics and evaluate network or hardware issues
- Note: Sage 100 Customer Support does not cover network or hardware troubleshooting or administration. Customer Support cannot make specific physical hardware or networking equipment brand, make or model suggestions. Replacing one or more specific pieces of hardware (such as network interface cards or NICs, workstations, servers, switches, routers, cabling, etc.) may not necessarily resolve the issue. in some cases, the issue may be due to interaction of hardware and/or software components.
- Examine Windows display settings. Disable Desktop Background Slide Show or Graphical Screen Savers, review Power Management.
Note: It is possible that a network administrator or hardware technician may not find the cause; aside from very general advice or suggestions as described above, Sage cannot help if that is the case.
