Note: There are two methods for sending reports as attachments via email using the Send feature. The first method is to use a compatible version of Microsoft Outlook. The second method is to DocLink: set up SMTP settings and have Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate communicate directly with the SMTP outgoing mail server. This article is in regards to using Microsoft Outlook. See links below for more information.
This article is in regards to using a supported version of Microsoft Office. If using the method in this article, a compatible version of Microsoft Outlook must be installed. For Versions 16.1 and newer:
- Verify Mail Settings is not set to use SMTP settings. If this setting is on, Sage 300 CRE will ignore Microsoft Office.
- Open Sage Desktop.
- Select Applications, Common Tasks, Tools, Options.
- Select the Mail Settings tab.
- Verify the Use SMTP to send mail selection is unchecked. Close this window.
- Run and and preview a report of your choice, from a module of your choice, but do not click the Start button.
- In this Print Selection window, click Send.
- Click the binoculars icon to the right of the Recipient field, select the desired Company or Person Contact and click OK. Note that any contacts that you can select would need to be setup as contacts using Project Management or Address Book.
- Verify the Send Method is set to E-mail.
- Click ...> to the right of the Destination field, type the recipients email address, then click OK.
- Click Send.
- Click Start. Microsoft has a security feature which will prompt you to click Allow in order to send the email. You must click Allow for the message to send.
Note: The report will not send until the Start button is clicked in the Print selection window.
