The data path is the location where the program looks for the data. If the program is looking to an incorrect directory, there are several problems you could encounter. Therefore, it’s important to have a correct data path.

1. Locate your data. See How to locate company directories.
2. Locate your data path. See How to find the data path and program path.
3. Compare the two directories. They should be the same except for the company folder listed at the end of the data directory. For example, if your data directory is C:\Sage\Peachtree\Company\abc123, then the data path will be C:\Sage\Peachtree\Company.

If you find the data path is incorrect, you can correct it in one of two ways.
