How to backup system and company files

The supported method of backing up Sage BusinessWorks files is to use the built-in backup utility.

Although the video is from a prior version, the steps for making a backup are the same. 

Follow the steps

  1. Verify all users have exited the program.
  2. Select File, Network Status. You’ll only see yourself listed. Close the Network Status window.
    • If other users appear or you receive a message about a user in the program, disconnect users
  3. From the Launcher menu, select File Backup to open the Database Backup Wizard.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select the company ID or the System icon and click Next.
  6. Select the drive and folder for this backup and click Next.
  7. Confirm or enter a backup file name and click Next.
  8. Review the choices to be sure they’re correct.
  9. Click Start to begin the backup process.
