Upgrade paths
Each version has a different upgrade path requirement.
Beginning with version 17.1, you can’t upgrade data from v4.0 (pre-Pervasive). Upgrade these files using the v16.1 or earlier.
SQL version to SQL version
- Upgrade from any SQL version of Estimating to another SQL version, such as version 23.1 to 25.1.
- See the Sage Estimating Installation and Administration Guide.pdf on the download image in \Install\Documents\ for more information.
Pervasive/Actian version to SQL version
- Upgrade Estimating 9.6 (Pervasive) or later to Estimating 20.1 (SQL), then upgrade Estimating SQL to 21.1 or greater.
- See the Sage Estimating Installation and Administration Guide.pdf on the download image in \Install\Documents\) for more information.
Data formats
- You can install both Pervasive/Actian and SQL versions of Estimating on the same computer. They'll continue to function. However, the data format is different between the two.
- SQL Estimating can access Pervasive/Actian data files by performing the data migration. Pervasive/Actian Estimating can't access SQL data files.
