Resolution
Important pre-installation requirement
- Always uninstall all older versions of Sage Fixed Assets before you install a newer version when skipping releases.
- Example:
- A workstation has version 2025.0 or earlier installed.
- You’re installing version 2026.1.
- Remove the older version using Programs and Features before starting the installation.
- If you don’t uninstall it, the setup will fail and prompt you to install version 2025.1 first.
Install the client from the server
Access the server directory
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Browse to the FASServ or SFAServ directory on the server.
- Use a UNC path or a mapped network drive.
- Note: Run the installer from the server location. Don’t copy setup files locally.
Run the setup file
- Open the appropriate folder:
- Network Client for Network installations.
- Premier Client for Premier installations.
- Right-click Setup.exe, then select Run as administrator.
- This installs Depreciation, Tracking, and Planning components.
Complete the installation
- Follow the Windows installer prompts.
- Finish the setup process.
