Update to Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation for Sage 50 2024.0

Note: For new installation of the Sage Fixed Assets program, see Download Sage Fixed Assets Network 2024.0 to download.

Note: There are prerequisites required for Sage Fixed Assets to run properly:

• If you don't have the .NET Framework 4.8 installed, the installer installs it automatically. Restart the computer before continuing the Sage Fixed Assets installation.
• Sage Standalone SBDDesktop.
• Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable Package (x86) See Error: "The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.CRPE' threw an exception." for a download of the prerequisite if it fails.

Note:  All in-place updates from 2023.1 and earlier require a Database Conversion. If you aren't upgrading from 2023.1, review the upgrade paths in Updating from older versions.

Updating from 2023.1 through the Sage Advisor Update

The Sage Advisor Update will have a notification of the 2024.0 release via a pop-up message in the Microsoft Windows system tray.

To check manually:

1. Click the Sage Advisor Update in the system tray. Alternatively, go to Start, All Programs, Sage, and open Sage Advisor Update
2. If you don't see the 2024.0 release listed, click the Check for Updates button. It will list the available updates
3. Put a check in the box beside the Sage Fixed Assets product listed. Click Download & Install or Download Only
   • Download & Install: This will download the update and start the Installation process once the download completes:
     
     Click Next, then Yes and Yes to uninstall the prior version. Wait for the install to process to complete. Click Finish once completed
   • Download only: Later, you can either open the Sage Advisor Update. Click the Download & Install button to start the installation. Alternatively, Browse to C:\Sage Advisor Update\Sage.US.SBS.SFA.FA50 and right-click the setup.exe. Select Run as Administrator to start the installation:
     
     Click Next, then Yes and Yes to uninstall the prior version. Wait for the install to process to complete. Click Finish once complete

Sage Fixed Assets - Database Conversion

Note:

• If you have multiple databases to convert, use the Conversion Utility (See How do I convert data? for details)

Updating from older versions:

Caution: If you install 2024.0 while using 2020.1 or earlier, you can't convert databases directly to 2024.0. They’ll appear with a Conversion Status of Incompatible Version and will require a Sage Expert Services engagement to update. See Sage Expert Services (SES) for details.

Note: For in place updates, you must do a Database Conversion for all versions of the program 2023.1 and prior. 

If updating from 2012.0 - 2018.1:

• • Back up your companies and take the Company Backup file (*.BBK) and restore directly into the 2024.0 product on a new system. See How to migrate Sage Fixed Assets Single User products for more information. Company Backup (.BBK) files created in versions back to 2012.0 restore directly into the newer product version.
