Cause | The ODBC driver cannot be accessed. |
Resolution | CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of your computer's operating system. Contact your system administrator for assistance. Modifying your Windows Registry incorrectly can severely affect system operations. Sage is not responsible for operation issues caused by incorrectly modifying your Windows Registry. - The database engine is damaged
- Uninstall the database engine on the computer receiving the error.
- Uninstalling the database engine does not remove any Sage BusinessWorks customer data
- Reinstall Sage BusinessWorks from the original installation medium. If reinstalling at a server or standalone computer, this would be the download file. If reinstalling at the workstation it would be the install located in \\server\sage\bwprog\client setup\autorun.exe
- Reinstall any necessary Service Packs if having to reinstall at the server
- The ODBC DSN driver may be damaged or pointing to the wrong server. Delete and recreate the Sage BusinessWorks ODBC DSNs
- Remove all DSNs related to Sage BusinessWorks.
- Create all DSNs related to Sage BusinessWorks.
- The user may not have sufficient rights in Windows
- In Windows, assign local administrative rights to the user.
- Give the C:\Windows (or C:\WinNT) folder full control permissions to the local administrator group and the system group.
- The user may not have sufficient rights in the Windows registry
- On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
- Type Regedt32 and click OK. to open Registry Editor.
- Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, and ODBC.
- In the ODBC key, assign full control rights to the local administrator group and the system group.
- This message can also occur when the client setup has not been run for the user in a Terminal Server session
