| Printing to Paperless Office hangs and does not complete or respond; or Printer not activated, error code -30" or error code -41 |
Description | Note: In a few cases, the issue would occur only with customized or modified Crystal Report forms or reports, but not with standard (un-modified) forms or reports. One or more additional tables may have been added to the customized report, causing the Crystal Report printing or generation process to become slow. Crystal Reports are slower if more than one table is used for report generation. |

- Note: For more information, see the Related Resource section below.
- From the Windows Desktop, open Start, select Devices and Printers
- Right-click the Sage 100 PDF Converter printer
- Note: This was formerly known as the Sage PDF Converter printer on the following versions:
- Product Update 3 and earlier for Sage 100 ERP version 2014

- Sage 100 ERP versions 4.50, 4.40, and 4.30
- Select Printer Properties
- Navigate to the Ports tab
- Click Add Port
- Create a New Local Port called Sage
- Note: Sage is not a required name, it could be Sage1 or John Smith or Hello
- Note: If the printer you are working with is the Sage 100 PDF Converter printer, there should be no need to create a new default Local Port.
- Click Apply
- Note: If you receive an error adding a port, you are likely operating in a high security environment, without the required permissions.
- Navigate to the Security tab
- Select the Everyone group
- Make sure the following check box options are selected:
- Print
- Manage This Printer
- Manage Documents
- Click Apply
- Accept all changes and test Paperless Office printing
High Security Suggestions: If you were unable to add a port there is likely a group policy or logon script that is preventing access to local resources. These suggestions may help but will likely require an IT professional. - From the Windows Desktop, open Start, select Devices and Printers
- Right click of the Sage 100 PDF Converter and go to Printer Properties
- On the “Ports” tab, click “Add Port”, then highlight “Local Port” and click New Port
- Call the port “Sage” (without the quotes), then click OK, then OK again
- Note: "Sage" is not a required name, it could be "Sage1" or "Hello"
- Now test Paperless Office printing.
- If you receive an Error 15, or you open the queue for the “Sage PDF Converter”, this likely means that saving to the local C:\ is restricted. You have two options:
- Ask the IT person if there is a standard drive mapped in the logon script, that is scripted for them to store file on the server. If yes is, replace the C: in step 4 with the mapped drive letter from the script.
- Create a directory on the workstation C:\ drive called “sagePDF” , and make sure that you give ‘everyone’ full permission to that folder. Then your local port would be “C:\sagePDF\Sage”
- Test Paperless Office printing
Note: The Everyone group appears by default when sharing folders in Windows with "Read" access - it is not recommended to modify this access level as it can pose a security risk. The best practice is to periodically review and audit the users who have access to the Sage [product] data and remove access rights for users who you no longer want to have access to Sage [product] data.
