Each Data Source Name (DSN) for your Sage Timberline Office data has a specified Table and field setting. The Table and field setting of the DSN used to create a Crystal report may not match the Table and field setting of the DSN on your computer. The @tsDesignMode formula allows you to specify the mode of the Table and field setting on the report to match the DSN on your computer.

To use the @tsDesignMode formula, create the appropriate formula for the report. You do not need to add the formula to the header, details, or footer sections of the report.

  1. From the Insert menu, select Field Object and then select Formula Fields.
  2. Click New. For the Formula Name, enter tsDesignMode and then click OK.
  3. Enter the appropriate mode description (see below).
  4. Click Save and Close and then click Close again to close the Field Explorer window.

The syntax for the formula is mode description. Values for the mode descriptions are as follows:

  • "Dictionary" - Dictionary mode
  • "SDesc" - Standard descriptions mode

If the tsDesignMode formula does not exist in a report, the report uses the Custom descriptions mode. For additional information about how to set up a DSN or how to use a DSN on Crystal report, select the appropriate links below.
