Resolution

Check for running tasks

  1. Ensure all users are out of Sage BusinessWorks.
  2. Use Ctrl + Alt + Delete and pull up Task Manager.
  3. End all Sage BusinessWorks processes (BWLauncher, BWServer, Taskxxxx.exe).
  4. Disconnect users.

Verify the correct version of the database engine is installed

  1. Verify whether the client has Pervasive installed.
    • In the Windows search, type Control Panel
    • Launch the Control Panel, then select Programs and Features
  2. If you see Pervasive installed, uninstall and then reinstall the database engine.

Other Troubleshooting steps

  1. Disable all antivirus software.
    • If you continue to experience issues, completely remove your antivirus software
  2. Reboot the server to free up RAM and any locked files.
    • Launch the program again
  3. Reinstall Sage BusinessWorks and the most current service pack at the server.
  4. Contact a computer technician to see if there’s a virus on the PC.
    • Remove the virus
    • Reinstall Sage BusinessWorks
    • Launch the program 

If the program appears to launch but the login screen doesn't display, delete the launcher key from the Windows Registry.
