What you will need

To use Remote Data Access Multi-User (multiple users simultaneously), you’ll need the following:

  • The currently supported release of Sage 50 is installed on your computer
  • Sage Drive multi-user license (separate from and in addition to the Sage 50 multi-user license); to purchase the Remote Data Access multi-user license, contact Sales at 877-495-9904
  • Each Sage 50 user accessing the company will need to sign in to Remote Data Access and have a unique Sage account email address, even local users accessing it over the local network
  • A high-speed internet connection
    • A hard-wired high-speed Internet connection on any machine using Remote Data Access
    • For best performance: Download speed of at least 25mbps and an upload speed of at least 10mpbs
    • For companies less than 500 megabytes that don’t use inventory or multiple lines on transactions an upload speed of 10mbps is sufficient
    • For companies greater than 500 megabytes that don’t use inventory or multiple lines on transactions an upload speed of 10mbps or more is recommended for the best performance
    • For all companies using inventory and/or multiple lines on transactions, an upload speed of at least 10mbps is recommended for the best performance
NOTE: The data size limit for Remote Data Access companies is 5.3GB, which includes attachments and archives.
  • If your database size is larger than 5.3GB, you can use the purge process to reduce the database size.  See How to Purge data

NOTE: Existing Sage 50 Accounting Multi-user local network environments must convert existing installs of Sage 50 Accounting to standalone versions of Sage 50 Accounting. See How do I install when data is being shared with Remote Data Access.

CAUTION: When making backups, make sure to back up to another folder, not the individual company folder. An error called "Error extracting" can delete the data in the current individual company folder.
