| Can I transfer charges, payments and credits to another lease in Property Management? |
Resolution |
At this time, charges, payments and credits cannot be automatically transferred to another lease.
Use Miscellaneous Entries (Tasks, Create Charges, Miscellaneous Entries) to remove open items from the original lease and re-enter them on the new lease. Refer to the following articles for more information:
To transfer an Open Credit (credits with a blank charge type):
- On the lease with the credit, create a charge to apply the Open Credit to clear its balance.
- Tip: You can create a new charge type to use specifically for this kind of transfer. For example, OPENCR, and use the Open Credit Clearing account (PM Settings, GL Information tab) as the Revenue account. Refer to article ID 30453 DocLink: How do I set up a new charge type in Property Management?
- On the lease you need to transfer the credit to, create a credit (negative charge) using the same charge type used for the charge in step 1. Refer to article ID 19348 DocLink: How do I enter a charge for a lease in Property Management?
To transfer a deposit, see article ID 97827 DocLink: Transfer deposits in Property Management
