Recently, Microsoft made a switch to faster installing, self-contained office installers called “Click-to-Run” installers, these packages can install much faster than the traditional installers we have seen in the past due to their streaming features. Unfortunately, these do not install the same way as a traditional installer and even disc based copies of Office may be click to run installations and as such, may require additional setup to function with Sage 300 CRE.

These Click-to-Run installers are the new standard deployment method that Microsoft is using for all office products including but not limited to Office 2010, 2013 and 365 Professional Plus. They can be identified easily due to the fact that they do not allow you to customize your installation the way traditional Office installers do.

If the correspondence log appears but Outlook does not write to Project Management, please follow these steps:

1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Timberline Office\Shared\
2. Run “Sage.CRE.PJCorrLogExchangeAddinSetup.msi” and “PJoffice2010shared.exe”
3. Restart your workstation
4. Attempt to write to the correspondence log again

If it writes successfully, no additional troubleshooting is required.

If it does not succeed, follow these steps:

1. Follow Microsoft's guidance at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2822317 for a fix or do a clean reinstall of the office.
2. Once Office installs successfully, navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Timberline Office\Shared\
3. Run “Sage.CRE.PJCorrLogExchangeAddinSetup.msi” and “PJofficeshared2010.exe”
4. Restart your workstation
5. Attempt to write to the correspondence log again
