Resolve BTRVLoginError 7025 connection error when launching
Description
  • Failed to connect to the server (server not found).
  • Error: "Failure of DFInitialize function; BTRVLoginError(7025).
  • Btrieve status 3013: Server name not found.
Cause
Resolution
When the error occurs on one workstation
  1. Check the Windows system tray. Right-click on the Sage BusinessWorks icon and select Exit.

  2. Restart the workstation.
  3. Stop and restart the database engine at the server.
  4. Open ports 1583 and 3351in the Windows Firewall for both inbound and outbound traffic.
    • Enable this setting for both Domain and Private connections.
  5. Share the Sage folder with full control at the server.
  6. Run a ping test to confirm the workstation can reach the server.
  7. Uninstall the database engine and reinstall Sage BusinessWorks Client.

Error Occurs on the Server and All Workstations

NOTE:

Work with your IT technician for advanced troubleshooting.
  1. Stop and restart the database engine at the server.
  2. Open ports 1583 and 3351 for inbound and outbound traffic in Windows Firewall.
  3. Share the Sage folder at the server.
  4. Temporarily disable antivirus software, and test access.
    • If you can access your program, contact your antivirus vendor to resolve the issue.
  5. Reboot the server and all workstations.
  6. If you change the server computer name, uninstall and install the Sage BusinessWorks client.
