Summary
Cause
Active scanning by antivirus programs may cause:
- Poor performance
- Sage 300 CRE and Sage Estimating applications to shut down unexpectedly
- File locking in Pervasive/Actian
- Sage System Verifier to stall
Resolution

If adding exclusions does not help with performance, it is recommended to temporarily remove the AV program from the server and workstations. Test the performance of Sage. If performance improves, contact your AV vendor to resolve issues with their applications. Be sure to reinstall your AV software immediately after testing.
Notes:
- Be sure to scan these files at a time when they are not in use (for example, schedule a daily scan at 3:00 a.m.).
- Configure your AV software to quarantine rather than delete suspected files. Some AV applications use predictive methods which may result in false positive detection of viruses in legitimate files.
This list contains default folders for both Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate and Sage Estimating so if you do not have both installed, some of the locations may not exist. The following default folders can be added to your anti-virus exclusion list:
WORKSTATIONS and TERMINAL SERVERS:
- C:\Program Files\Actian.
- C:\Program Files\Sage
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Aatrix Software

- If using the Property Management application and Windows Security Real-Time Protection is enabled, add pm.exe as a Process exclusion. See Error: "Aborted. I/O error" or "Failed" (during PM Trial Run tasks)

Note: We have seen cases where the aggressive AV's attack Sage as soon as it is downloaded, damaging the installer. If this happens you may need to add an excluded folder for downloading and extracting the Sage .zip file.
The following are included for legacy versions. Please note that for the safety and security of your system, it is recommended that you be on a currently supported Microsoft Operating System.
