Summary

Use the restore option to restore backups made from within Sage BusinessWorks.

Resolution

Before you begin

  • You can’t reverse the restore process, so be sure to make a backup before proceeding
  • Verify all users have exited the program. If you receive a message that users are in the program, disconnect stuck users

To restore

  1. From the Sage BusinessWorks Launcher, click File, Restore.
  2. Click Next.
  3. In the Select Restore File window, browse to your backup file.
    • When restoring SYSTEM, the company ID is BWSYSTEM1400 and the company name is System Manager Database
    • The System backup contains your custom forms and reports, users and passwords, registration information, and all system-related information
  4. Select your file, then Next.
  5. Review your choices before clicking Start.
     NOTE:
Press the Restore to new Company ID check box to create a new company with the backup.
