NOTE: If the standard reports are missing, the RPTDATAI.DAT file located in the data path is damaged. This file can be removed and then replaced with a known good copy or by running Repair with the program setup files at the server. All computers will need to exit Sage 50 to complete this process. Check the sample company first. - If the standard reports are missing from the Sample Company, then replace the RPTDATAI.DAT
- If the standard reports aren’t missing in the Sample Company, replace the RPTDATA.DAT file in the specific company folder
Damaged RPTDATAI.dat - Close Sage 50.
- Browse to the location of your data path. See How to find the data path and program path.
- Right-click RPTDATAI.DAT, rename it to RPTDATAI.OLD, and then press Enter.
- Download the appropriate RPTDATAI.DAT file for your version in the Attachments section below.
- Save the file in your data path.
- Open the program and check to see if missing reports are back. If not, proceed to the next section.
Run Repair - Browse to the location of your data path. See How to find the data path and program path.
- Right-click RPTDATAI.DAT, rename it to RPTDATAI.OLD, and then press Enter.
- Run a repair on the Sage 50 installation. See How to run Repair.
Damaged RPTDATA.DAT file - Browse to the location of your data path. See How to find the data path and program path.
- Open the company's folder.
- Right-click RPTDATA.DAT, rename it to RPTDATA.OLD, and then press the Enter key.
- When you reopen the program you’ll receive a message asking to create a brand new, empty file; select Yes.
If this resolves the issue, you’ll need to recreate any custom reports. Delete all DDF files in the company data folder - Browse to your company data folder. See How to locate company directories.
- Delete COSESS.DAT and all DDF files in your company data directory.
- Open the program and check to see if missing reports are back.
- If only 10 DDF files were created, refer to Section 2 of Company opens to a gray screen after installing an update.
The workstation is pointed to a different data path than the server - Browse to the data path shown in the ini file. See How to find the data path and program path.
- Add a new folder labeled Find Me.
- Browse to the data path on the server that is shown in the ini file on the server.
- See if the "Find Me" folder is in that location. If the folder is not there, then the workstation must be re-mapped to the correct location. See How to map a network drive.
- It may be necessary to update the ini file on the workstation. See How do I update the INI file on the workstations?.
