Section 1: Delete all .DDF files in the company data folder
- Select Maintain, and then select Company Information.
- Copy the company's Directory.
- Close Sage 50 on all computers.
- Press the Windows Key + R to open a Run line.
- Paste the Directory in the Run line and press Enter.
- Cut all files with the extension .DDF to a temporary folder on your desktop (should be 12 of these).
- Open Sage 50 and your company.
Section 2: If only 10 .DDF files were created after completing Section 1
- Uninstall and reinstall Actian, following How to completely remove and reinstall Actian (formerly Pervasive).
- Repeat Section 1, above.
- Verify the company opens properly.
Section 3: Damaged UserPref.DAT file
- Make a backup of your company. Refer to How do I create or make a backup?.
- Browse to your company data folder.
- Right-click UserPref.DAT, and then click Rename.
- Rename UserPref.DAT to UserPref.old.
- Verify company opens.
Section 4: Damaged Reports folder in the data path
Note: The update must be installed, and the data folder must be within the data path on the server prior to the conversion or the removal of the .DDF files and Reports folder.
- Exit Sage on all computers including the server.
- On the server, browse to the data path. Refer to How to find data path and program path.
- Rename Reports folder to oldReports.
- Delete all the .DDF files.
- Run a Repair, follow DocLink: How to run Repair.
- Reinstall the update.
Section 5: Create a new company to reset permissions
- Create a new company called Test or something similar. Refer toHow to create a new company.
- Verify the new company opens without the issue.
- Open your company and verify it can be opened without the issue.
Section 6: Uninstall and reinstall Sage to a new program path
- Follow How to manually remove the program.
- Follow How do I install to a different program path?.
- Verify company opens.
Section 7: Last opened company contains damaged .DDF files and it makes Sage crash
