Summary
When clicking the Sage 50 Accounting icon, nothing happens and the program doesn't open.
Resolution
NOTE: Antivirus programs such as Acronis and Bitdefender can cause this issue. Try disabling your antivirus software or temporarily removing it from your machine. If that resolves the issue, add exceptions for Sage 50 into your antivirus.
Sage 50 Accounting is running in the background
- See if Peachw.exe is already running in the background
- Or reboot the computer
The program needs to be activated
- Causes an error in the Event Viewer: "Exception Info: System.IO.FileNotFoundException at Peachw.Program.Main(System.String[])"
- Run Sagereg.exe to force activation
Actian Zen problems preventing the program from opening
Windows 8 Compatibility mode is on for the shortcut
- Right-click on the Sage 50 Accounting shortcut and select Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Uncheck Compatibility mode and click OK.
Disconnected network drive
- Click the Windows Start button and in the Search box, type File Explorer. Press Enter.
- Look for the mapped drive Sage 50 uses.
- Fix any issues where the mapped drive is missing, has a red x, or cannot be accessed.
If you continue to have issues with the mapped network drive disconnecting, switch to a UNC path.
