Follow the correct upgrade path for Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE) and Sage Estimating. Upgrade steps depend on your current version.
CAUTION: If you use third-party products that integrate with your Sage product, check with the vendor of your third-party product to ensure their product is fully compatible with this release. If you integrate with other Sage products, check with your business partner or Sage to ensure that these components are compatible.
Follow the upgrade path for your version of Sage products.
Upgrade path for Sage 300 CRE
- Version 20.x and later: Upgrade directly to 25.2.
- Version 18.x: Upgrade to 20.5, then to 25.2.
- Version 17.1 or earlier: Contact your Business Partner, Sage Consultant, or Sage Expert Services for assistance.
NOTE: Sage 300 CRE Australian customers: Upgrade from 18.1.3 Rev 3 directly to 25.2.
Upgrading data files
- Use the Desktop, Tasks, Common Tasks, Tools, and Upgrade Files menu to update data files.
- You can upgrade all accounting application data files except Purchasing, Inventory, and Service Management.
Special notes on older versions and steps for specific applications
- For versions 13.1 or earlier, upgrade to 15.1, then upgrade the data before moving to version 17.1.
- Open and upgrade Service Management data files on the server the first time you open the application.
- Open and upgrade Purchasing and Inventory data files on the server console, not through Remote Desktop.
- Upgrading data on a workstation sets DSNs incorrectly and causes data access errors.

Purchasing and Inventory modules on older versions
- If using Purchasing or Inventory in version 8.3.x or 9.1.x, apply Software Alert 05-M or 05-P before upgrading to 9.4.1. Contact Sage Support for getting these updates.
- If you use Purchasing and/or Inventory, we don't recommend using version 12.1. Upgrade to 13.1 or higher.
Upgrade path for Sage Estimating
- Upgrade directly from any Pervasive/Actian Estimating version for Windows to another Pervasive/Actian Windows version.
- To upgrade from Pervasive/Actian to SQL Estimating, you must be on version 9.6 or higher.
- Beginning with version 17.1, you can’t upgrade data from v4.0 (pre-Pervasive). Upgrade these files using the v16.1 or earlier.
