Summary

Your antivirus software or firewall will cause your Sage BusinessWorks program to lock up or freeze when launching tasks.

Resolution

Disable your antivirus software

  • If your program works, contact your antivirus vendor to resolve the issue.
  • Exclude file types with mkd and ddf file extensions.

Add .exe files to the 'White List' In your firewall

  • Add the following files to the White List in your firewall.
    • BWLauncher.exe - located in the BW Program folder.
    • BWserver.exe - located in the BW Program folder.
    • Task*.exe - located in the BW Program folder, then Tasks folder.

Open ports in firewall

Have Windows updates recently installed on the computer?

  • Uninstall the Windows update and try launching the program or task again.

Uninstall and reinstall the Sage BusinessWorks program
