| Description | Sage Fixed Assets version 2025.1 is the annual Tax update, updating Tax forms and calculation rules in compliance with current IRS rules. See the Sage Fixed Asset Release Notes for new features included in this release. For detailed installation instructions, See the Sage Fixed Assets Premier Installation Guide. Note: Starting with Sage Fixed Assets 2023.1, Sage Fixed Assets installs SAP Crystal Reports runtime SP30. This can cause an issue with Crystal Reports runtime versions used for other products. | Resolution | ▼Prerequisites Prerequisites For in place updates, you'll need a Database Conversion for all versions of the program 2024.1 and prior. If not updating from 2024.1, see Updating from older versions below for the update paths available. ▼Updating from 2024.1 through the Sage Advisor Update Updating from 2024.1 through the Sage Advisor Update Sage Advisor Update shows a pop-up in the Windows system tray for the 2025.1 release. To check manually and update - Go to the server where you have the Sage Fixed Assets Premier Server installed.
- Click the Sage Advisor Update in the system tray or go to Start, Programs, Sage, Sage Advisor Update.
- If you don't see the 2025.1 release listed, click the Check for Updates button. It will list under the available updates.
- Check the box beside the Sage Fixed Assets version 2025.1 product listed. Click Download & Install or Download Only.
- Download & Install: Downloads the update and starts the Installation process once the download completes.
- Click Next, then Yes and Yes to uninstall the prior version, then wait for the process to complete. Click Finish once completed.
- Download only: Later, you can open the Sage Advisor Update and click the Download & Install button to start the installation. Or you can browse to C:\Sage.
- Advisor Update\Sage.US.SBS.SFA.Premier and right-click the setup.exe and select Run as administrator to start the installation.
- Click Next, then Yes and Yes to uninstall the prior version, then wait for the process to complete. Click Finish once complete
- Once finished, the Install will prompt to launch the Database Utility - Premier Depreciation & Tracking.
- If you selected No, go to Start, Programs, Sage Fixed Assets.
- Right-click the Database Utility - Premier Depreciation & Tracking and select Run as administrator.
When logging into SQL Server in Database Utility, use a SQL User with Administrator permissions. ▼Database Conversion Database Conversion - In the Database Utility - Premier Depreciation & Tracking, click Convert.
- Click Next, click Next again.
- Click Select All databases with a Conversion Status of Ready to Convert.
- Click Next, click Convert.
- Click Close when the conversion is complete.
- An Internet browser window opens that shows the names of databases that converted, and their status.
- If you have the Planning product, repeat two – six in the Database Utility - Planning, click the Convert.

If the client currently installed is version 2024.0 or prior, you must uninstall the existing client before proceeding: - Open windows explorer.
- Browse to the SFAServ\Premier Client\Setup.exe.
- Right-click and select Run as Administrator.
- Click Next, then Yes.
- Click Next and Finish once the install process completes.
▼Updating from version 2024.0 or older Updating from version 2024.0 or older CAUTION: If updating from 20231.1 or earlier, follow the update path before installing 2025.1. Otherwise, you can't convert the databases directly to 2025.1. They’ll appear with a Conversion Status of Incompatible Version and will require a Sage Expert Services engagement to update. See How do I contact Sage Expert Services? for details. Find product downloads for the currently supported versions of Sage Fixed Assets on the Download portal. For in place updates, the system requires a Database Conversion for all versions of the program 2024.1 and prior. If updating from 2024.0, you can either: - Uninstall the existing version, install 2025.1 and convert the databases

If updating from 2023.1: - First update to 2024.1 (See How to update to Sage Fixed Assets Premier 2024.1 for details). Convert the databases, then update to 2025.1 and convert the databases
If updating from 2023.0: - Uninstall the existing version, install 2023.1 and convert the databases, then update to 2024.1 and convert the databases. Then update to 2025.1 and convert the databases
If updating from 2012.0 – 2020.1: - For versions 2012.0 – 2020.1, there’s no direct update path using the existing databases.
- Create backups of the company files in the client program.
- Set up a new environment and databases.
- Install the 2025.1 version.
- Restore backups of the company files.

- Company Backups (.BBK) files created in prior versions back to 2012.0. They’ll restore directly into the 2025.1 product on a new system.
