Close all programs before installation, as a reboot is possible during setup. Download Sage BusinessWorks
Perform this on the server that runs the program and stores the data.
Log in as a local administrator on the computer where you're installing Sage BusinessWorks.If you're not the original installer, or see an error "The installation originally performed by...", refer to installations performed by another user.
Browse to C:\Sage BusinessWorks 20xx Install Files. Double-click Autorun.exe.
Click Install Sage BusinessWorks 20xx.
When prompted, install the required Microsoft files, click Install.
Once complete click Next >.
Click OK when the message confirms the correct Actian database version.
Review the Sage End-User License and Support Agreement. If you accept the terms, click Next >.
Review the installation settings and click Next > to begin the installation.
When installation is complete, click Finish.
Launch Sage BusinessWorks and log in with your credentials.
Log in to a separate Remote Desktop Session. Repeat these steps for each user that will run the program remotely.
Log in as the Windows user who needs access.
Open the Sage program directory (default path: ...\Sage\BWProg).
Double-click BWProfile.exe and click Next > to begin.
Accept the default Program Folder. Click Next >.
Review and confirm the installation settings. Click Next >.
Click Finish when the installation completes.
Upgrade the program for local users
Login at each local client computer. Run client setup once per workstation. Don't use the downloaded installation files. If prompted for a product code during client install, cancel and follow these steps:
Right-click the Windows Start Button.
Open File Explorer.
Go to the Client Setup folder on the server. For example, \\Server\Sage\BWProg\Client Setup.
Double-click Autorun.exe.
Click Install Sage BusinessWorks Client.
When prompted, install the required Microsoft files. Click Next >.
Accept the default Program Folder. Click Next >.
Confirm the installation settings. Click Next > to begin the installation.
If prompted for admin credentials, enter the Windows network administrator user ID and password. This must be a Local Administrator on the Sage BusinessWorks server
Users connect remotely to a separate Remote Desktop Server. That server links to another server that runs the program and stores the data.
On the Application Server (The server that runs the program and stores the data)
Log in as a local administrator on the computer where you're installing Sage BusinessWorks.If you're not the original installer, or see an error "The installation originally performed by...", refer to installations performed by another user.
